Flagstaff Rotarians Partner with the Salvation Army to bring Holiday Cheer to local families

Flagstaff Rotarians recently volunteered in support of the Northern Arizona Salvation Army holiday programs.  On a sunny and warm December day, Rotarians enjoyed the opportunity to ring the bell at the entrance to Sam’s Club, wishing customers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and offering thanks for the generosity of our Flagstaff community.  By the end of the day, the red kettle was overflowing, helping to fund the Salvation Army’s many programs to help the less fortunate in 2019.

The club had also sponsored a family of seven through the Salvation Army adopt-a-family program, providing clothing, toys and household goods to a family in need in our community.  It seemed that everyone found a way to contribute whether it was by shopping, delivering or supporting the effort financially.

Rotary service allows us to give back to the community as well as get to know each other better.  A good time was had by all.  A special mention for Adeline Wolverton, daughter of Rotarian Eric, for her festive dress and bright smile.
