Speaker: The webinar “Ian, Rotary, and the Environment” was presented by the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAC). Previous RI President Ian Riseley spoke about the new 7th area of focus of the Rotary Foundation.
This new area of focus will allow environmental projects to receive Global Grants for the first time starting July 1 2021. The policy statement notes “Rotary supports activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance environmental sustainability, and foster harmony between people and the environment”.
Ian noted he the types of projects he would like to see two types of grant proposals - projects that (1) rectify damage done to our environment and (2) prevention of future issues by education and advocacy. The detailed statement policy link is below with specifics about project types.
