This was the 24rd meeting of the 102nd Rotary Year for the Rotary Club of Flagstaff.
We had 8 members in house, and Derrick visiting from Chicago.
Our Speakers were PDG Tonya Watson and Derrick Doba with the Flagstaff Club Foundation annual report. Tonya noted that the Foundation has been revitalized. There is $112K in the endowment deposited at the AZ Community Foundation. They made two donations this year.
$3K to the Coconino Community College for tuition assistance.
$1K to the The Rotary Vocation Fund of AZ. (TRVFA)
There are 5 members meeting quarterly.
Tonya Watson - Chair,
Derrick Doba - Treasurer,
Billie McGraw - Secretary,
Steve Cervantes and
Hoppy Hopkins.
Thank you for your service!
The thought of the day was from Dr. Suess
- “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the guy who'll decide where to go."
Organization needs
Our merry band has opportunities for you! We still have openings for next year's board. We don't have a Rotary club if we don't have a Secretary and Treasurer. Contact President Laura to volunteer starting in July.
- The Secretary would be responsible for attending the club executive meetings, writing up the notes and updating membership records. This is a 4 hour a month responsibility.
- The Treasurer is responsible for the light bookkeeping and quarterly invoices in the QB system. This is a 4-6 hour a month responsibility.
- The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for monitoring the PO BOX and depositing checks, lunch cash, and Happy Bucks. This is a 3-4 hour a month responsibility.
- The Meeting newsletter chair is responsible for this document - attending the meeting and communicating with the club on what happened at the meetings. This would be a 2 hour a month responsibility.
Thank you to Michael Casey for agreeing to be the Membership Chair.
June is Rotary Fellowship Month
Rotary Fellowships are international groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends around the world, explore a hobby or profession, and enhance your Rotary experience. Check them out here.
