Attendance Today  15 Members and 2 Guests braved today's rainy weather

Today's Meeting

President Jeff Ross called the seventh meeting of our Rotary year to order at 12:05pm.  The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jeremy Baker and Hoppy Hopkins led us in a chorus of My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean
ROTARY MINUTE:  Even though Rotary International no longer stresses the importance of perfect attendance, Eric Walden encouraged everyone to attend make up meetings while traveling, to meet new Rotary friends and gain new insights into how other clubs operate.    He stressed now is the time to sign up for the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg next June!
PROGRAM:  Jeff Hall, Director of Lowell Observatory, shared an update of their capital plan.  The current visitor center opened in 1994, and this year they expect to have 110,000 visitors!  The first phase of their long range expansion, targeted for completion in mid 2019, includes an open deck 5000 square foot observatory plaza, along with a larger parking lot.  The second phase, scheduled for mid 2022, includes a new astrology discovery center to include retail and a café and a 3 story round atrium.  Visit them daily, 10am – 10pm (5pm on Sunday), or….volunteer!

Eric Walden led us in the Four Way Test and President Jeff adjourned the meeting at 12:56pm.

Our next meeting is October 16 with NAU President Rita Cheng as our speaker.
