This week's program
President Jeff called our 11th meeting of the Rotary year to order at 12:05.  The Pledge was led by Carla.  Hoppy led us in “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah”, and even though not in our songbooks, most of us got through it!
PDG Tonya led the induction of our newest member, Steve Colf, formerly of the Santa Clarita, CA club.  Steve has made several trips to the Himalayas as well as a horseback trip from Argentina to Chile.  He and his wife of 55 years, Maryanne, recently sold their horse/mule (and yak!) ranch in CA.  He concluded that he has had the best life he could ask for.  Steve and Maryanne, welcome to Flagstaff Rotary, and we hope your life gets even better!
Treasurer Millie started our Club Assembly with a recap of our financial state, and a reminder to pay your quarterly invoices promptly as she has to remit dues to the District and RI, whether you have paid yet or not!
Trish reminded everyone to make sure they have a password for ClubRunner as that is our method of communication.  Also, if you have any stories for the newsletter, please submit to her.
Mike passed around a sign up for the Christmas social, to be held at the Horsemen Lodge on December 12.  Also planning a bowling outing, possibly in January.
Carla introduced PDG Tonya as her President Elect, Mike Hosking as Treasurer, and Paul as Club Administrator.
Carla also had a sign up sheet for Salvation Army Bell Ringing on December 14, and a Christmas tree with names and wishes for our Salvation Army adopt a family.  There is still time to participate….either purchasing gifts or donating funds she can use towards this great project.
Steve and Frank recapped the 35 different guest speakers we have had in the last year and a half.  Suggestions are always appreciated!
Eric Walden educated us on the Flagstaff Rotary Foundation, currently being administered by the AZ Community Foundation.
Eric also updated on Interact, currently at 6 members, and they will be teaming up with our Rotaract group on the Crutches for Africa project.
Paul led us in the 4 Way Test, and President Jeff adjourned the meeting at 1:05.
Our next meeting is December 17, but see you all at the Horsemen on December 12 and at Sam’s Club ringing the bell on December 14!
