Jeremy Baker, Captain
Salvation Army

Jeremy was born in Mesa but never lived in Arizona until moving to Flagstaff earlier this year.  He spent his childhood moving to 8 Western states, graduating from West Torrance High School in Torrance, California in 2005.

Immediately upon graduation from high school, Jeremy joined the Marine Corps and in September 2005, he earned the title of United States Marine.  Jeremy served five years of active duty as an aviation mechanic with the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323. During his active duty he was deployed three times to Afghanistan and Iraq.  During the time of his service, Jeremy travelled to 19 different countries around the world including most countries in Asia and Europe.

Jeremy met his wife Brittany, who is also a Captain in the Salvation Army, during a leadership training for the Salvation Army.  They were married in 2011.  Jeremy and Brittany have one child, a boy named Micah and have second child on the way.

Jeremy and Brittany worked at the Redlands Salvation Army before moving to the Salvation Army College for officer training in Rancho Palos Verde.  After training, Jeremy received his Associate of Arts in Ministry and was commissioned and ordained as an officer in the Salvation Army.  He went on to serve two years in Salem, Oregon, followed by a move to Burbank, Calif., where he and Brittany oversaw Salvation Army programs in and ministries in the area.  While in Burbank, Jeremy joined the Burbank Noon Rotary Club and immediately knew a partnership and friendship with Rotary would continue in every future appointment with the Army.  Jeremy and Brittany moved to Flagstaff in 2018 as the Corps Officers and Salvation Army representatives for Coconino County.

Jeremy is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program at Nazarene Bible College and will received his BA in May, 2019.  Jeremy’s interests and hobbies include hiking, camping, travel, golf, football, building anything and spending time with his family and playing video games.  He is also interested in anything that has to do with Star Wars!  Use the force Jeremy – and welcome to the Fellowship of Flagstaff Rotary.
